Eligibility

Tablet Eligibility and Lifeline Qualification

Lifeline eligibility can be based on household income or participation in a qualifying program. A Govt Tablet LLC promotional device is a separate offer that also depends on approval, availability and its own terms.

Govt Tablet LLC is a private company, not a government agency. Lifeline is a separate federal service-discount program.

Check a possible qualification path

This short checker uses current standard Lifeline program and income rules for preliminary guidance. It does not ask for your name, contact information, benefit number, Social Security number, or survivor status.

USAC also has a separate temporary Safe Connections Act survivor pathway with different emergency eligibility rules. This checker does not ask anyone to disclose survivor status. Review the official Lifeline Support survivor-benefit guidance if that pathway may apply.

Program participation

1. Program participation

Choose the option that best describes you or someone in your Lifeline household. Selecting a program here is not an official eligibility determination.

2. Income path

If you want to check the standard income path, enter the household size, guideline region, and approximate annual gross household income. These answers stay in this browser page and are not submitted to an eligibility database.

No checker answer or income amount is placed in the URL, query string, or analytics payload.

Income-based eligibility

Households may also qualify when gross household income is at or below 135% of the applicable Federal Poverty Guidelines. Household size and whether the household is in the contiguous states, Alaska or Hawaii affect the amount.

The income table on this page uses the official 2026 amounts. Because the figures are updated annually, confirm the current official table when applying.

One Lifeline benefit per household

USAC allows one Lifeline benefit per household. A household is generally a group of people who live together and share income and expenses. Separate economic households at the same address may need to complete a household worksheet.

How verification works

The National Verifier is used in most states and territories. Oregon and Texas use approved state processes. Automated checks may confirm eligibility, or the applicant may be asked for acceptable supporting documents.
